Well, this year has been pretty crazy for the lives of the branhams, but it's been a lot of fun. Brett and I have been working on finishing school and just working in general. I had my first serving job last summer at Liberty Tap Room, which was nice to get the experience but I did not like working in a very unprofessional environment and of course the fact that I dont drink makes it kind of difficult to serve at a place where they offer 40 beers on tap. Brett began hosting at Landry's at broadway last Christmas and they gave him his first serving job at summer time which he still currently has. But anyway that's the boring stuff. We got engaged!!! at the beginning of July!! We had been dating 11 months and for 10 of them we always knew that we were getting married August 8th 2009.Tag... it's my turn. So anyways, Samantha asked me to marry her and I couldn't turn her down. She is my beautiful, sweet, sensitive, loving sweetheart. As Samantha said, we just both knew we were right for each other. She definitely completes me in every aspect. I guess a better word that describes our relationship would be compatible. There are so many aspects of our personalities that are similar. Basically, we have been inseparable since we met each other and that's just the way we have loved it! It is often a question how we are to know who we are suppose to spend the rest of our lives with but it was pretty simple for me. When I first met her I knew she was a special girl and wanted to marry her. Marry her? Seriously? Right after you met her? Yes!! I have never been loved more by an individual in my life and she continues to surprise me every day by her capacity to love. Anyways... I love her and she continues to grow every day in the gospel. It has been such an amazing journey with Samantha. She joined the Church in August 2008 and it is amazing to see how the gospel has such a firm hold in her life. It is amazing to see her growth in knowledge and passion in the knowledge of the truth. I can respectfully say that the words Samantha shares with me in relationship to our beliefs touch my heart directly and have a greater influence on me than any other person in my life. I have felt it from the first moment we met... she is my special little angel. Now back to Sam...
So I'm pretty much the luckiest girl ever. lol. I have grown so much because he makes me strive to be a better person everyday. He is my everything and I would be lost without him, but to get back to summing up our year a little.... We had a great summer preparing for our wedding, unfortunately we didn't get to save money because as simple as our wedding was it still adds up for the little things. But that's ok because it was absolutely perfect! I wouldn't have asked for anything more. We then got to go to St. Augustine, FL for 5 days for our honeymoon. I really loved that. I loved the beach there and the historic feel. There was so much art and food it was definitely just right up my ally, so I was definitely super happy, and when I'm happy Brett is happy!!! =) lol We got back and school started right up which was not so nice but ya gotta do whatcha gotta do. Brett continued to work and bring home the bacon lol while I was having a very looong semester. We haven't made any trips or done anything exciting since august, its been pretty boring due to school. We get by because I can't work yet, but we love each other dearly, more and more everyday in fact. We had a lovely first Christmas. I probably would have changed a few things but I was with Brett and that's what matters most. We have had plenty of trials and plenty of blessings, one day these trials we experience will pass and be blessings in there own. We take it one day at a time and spend every second we can with each other. I can't wait to see what's in store for us for 2010!!!!
