Christmas

I can honestly say this has been the absolutely best Christmas! Aside from teaching baya about the birth of Christ and the true and wonderful meaning of this season... it was just so much fun for me to watch her be so happy and excited. Instead of Christmas everything was ho ho... ie ho ho lights! and ho ho trees! and even Santa was ho ho... I could have easily corrected her the first time but we all thought it was cute so we just went with it.
This past Sunday we traveled up to Camden, sc to get together with all of Brett's family and visit with his grandmas... it was so so nice and fun but we pushed the kids too long and hard and on the way home we hit meltdown status (it is really rare when we get to this all time low and it is very difficult to pull out of it.. yuck!)
The next day was Christmas Eve.... Brett and I had two errands and we mostly just relaxed until dinner with my fam... which is kinda a big deal because every year we get to have the BEST fillet and lobster meal(as I just mentioned in my last post about ever... food makes me happy) and then we exchange family gifts. My parents gave us a little Disney trip to hit up when we are driving home and we are super excited! We stayed the night and got to see baya experience waking up and understanding that Santa brought her presents. This girl loves opening presents that's for sure! Ever just liked eating the paper.
Once we ate and got dressed for the day we headed to Brett's parents for Christmas number 2. We relaxed and exchanged more gifts and took long naps and ate lots. These kids were definitely good and spoiled this year. I guess because we have the two it just seems like so much stuff! Everything from a mini trampoline, ride on toys, basketball hoops.. oh my.
Aside from the stuff though.. it was a wonderful time reflecting on the birth of our savior and I can not express in words how eternally grateful I am for that. We are a blessed little family.

  1. So fun!! Loved reading the post and looking at all the lovely pics :) It made me laugh that you said Ever just ate the paper... that's exactly what Riven did as well. Unfortunately, he was sick, but he is over it now thank goodness. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Disney!
