well it is finally over, but not without a little blood, sweat, and tears of course lol. I really wasn't anticipating it to be as hectic and difficult as it has been. We have a furnished place, but even so, I didn't know everything that our current place had or not, so I just guessed on what we just store or bring...... WE BROUGHT WAY TOO MUCH! so we either had to goodwill or trash a lot and I just felt so wasteful, but at least I don't have to worry about it anymore.
backing up a little bit.... I also hadn't realized how much stuff we have accumulated over the past two years. Packing was a nightmare. Which is probably a good thing because it made leaving our first home easier. We were so hot and frustrated and totally over it by the time we had the uhaul loaded that I didn't even have the time to get sad or reminisce. But when it comes down to it, I will miss our small Ivy Stone apartment and all of the sweet and wonderful memories that we had in it.
Saying our good byes to our best friends and family was so difficult. Everyone was getting super teary eyed and sad but I don't think it had hit us yet..... now it has lol.
The drive went fairly well. We drove through the night from 8pm to 8am. Baya slept majority of the time, but she was probably up (and grumpy) for about 3 hours of the ride.
Moving in has definitely been more fun and exciting. I have had lots of help, because my family came down with us and we have got it basically all knocked out in 3 days :)
I think the most difficult part about this whole experience however, is that Baya has been ridiculously sick. she has been fighting something for literally the past 3 weeks. I will write a separate post on this, but lets just say that our prayers have been answered and we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Naples is incredibly beautiful, and our new home is beautiful. I am excited to start this journey with my little family. I have so much to write but I am still just so busy.
ps- the blood i was referring to at the beginning was when brett sliced his toe moving our washer down our stairs... not pretty....
